About the job Nursing Officer - Midwifery
The Nursing Officer Midwifery is a key member of the hospital clinical team and is a responsible and accountable professional who works in partnership with women to give the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period, to conduct births on the midwife's own responsibility and to provide care for the infant. Plan, implement, evaluate and maintain a high standard of midwifery care to achieve desired clinical outcomes, at the same time recognising the needs and acknowledging the dignity, culture and values of all patients and their families. The Midwife provides direct patient care through a consumer centred approach and within scope of practice. Assures that all doctors with patients on the unit are satisfied with the nursing care provided to their patients resulting in excellent outcomes. Serves as the acting Nurse Supervisor during their absence.
Education and Experience profile:
- B. Sc. Degree in Nursing, Midwifery or equivalent from recognized University / Institution.
- Registered with the Uganda Nursing and Midwifery Council.
