Specialist Medical Officer of Emergency Medicine

The Specialist Medical Officer of Emergency Medicne will be involved in the care of the patients within all the Emergency Medicine. They will autonomously perform the guard shift. The Specialist Medical Officer shall be a blend of technical skills and positive personal attributes. They must be skilled in conducting physical examinations, taking patient medical histories and interpreting the results of diagnostic tests. They will also coordinate patient care with other specialists within ISHU. The Specialist Medical Officer  must be skilled at solving problems, communicating with others and making decisions quickly. Compassion, respect and integrity are just some of the personal attributes required.

Education and Experience profile:

• A MB.Ch.B. or its equivalent from a recognized University
• A M.Med. in Emergency Medicine (or its equivalent)
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
• From six (6) years of work experience in any area related to Emergency Medicine
