About the job Specialist Medical Officer of Radiology
The Specialist Medical Officer of Radiology Unit will perform conventional radiology, CT, MRI and ultrasound examination to the ISHU patients. They will interpret radiological examinations and provide diagnostic therapeutic report. They will provide treatment or will manage patients using ultrasound, fluoroscopic and CT guidance, under the supervision of a Consultant, according to their own experience. They will report daily to the Consultants about the most recent or serious cases and procedures performed in the Unit. The Specialist can also attend periodic meetings with other Radiologists, anesthetists, surgeons and other specialists to evaluate which procedures perform for the different patients.
Education and Experience profile:
- A MBChB. or its equivalent from a recognized University or Institution.
- A Master of Medicine (M.Med) degree in Radiology or its equivalent.
- Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
- At least three (3) years of work experience in Radiology or its related fields.
