Senior Consultant of Anatomo- Pathology

The Senior Consultant of Anato-Pathology will be responsible of the job smoothness within the sub-unit entrusted to them. They will organize and direct the work and will be expected to autonomously perform high-quality pathology tests. The areas entrusted to the Consultant include Forensic Laboratory, Mortuary, Cytopathology and Histopathology. They will report daily to the Head of Unit about the most recent or serious procedures/assay in the lab. The Senior Consultant will also attend periodic meetings with the other medical professional such as specialists in infectious disease, hematologists and other to evaluate which care to provide to different patients. Finally, they will cooperate with the Head of Unit in the training and evaluation of the junior roles.

Education and Experience profile:

• A Bachelors degree in Medicine and Surgery or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution
• A Masters Degree in either Forensic Science, Clinical Chemistry, Haematology, Histopathology, Microbiology, Parasitology or Virology from a recognized University /Institution
• Must be registered (or meet the requirements for registration, if currently working abroad) to the Ugandan Professionals Council
• Minimum six (6) years of working experience in a Hospital laboratory, of which at least three (3) in Anatomic Pathology
