Role Department : Engineer Project/Controls Programming
Reports To : Manager
Description of Role:
To contribute to automating the customer's warehouse/material handling operations by means of Industrial Control system configurations & developments as per the solutions designed, within the scheduled time and cost budget, adhering to quality norms and to enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring reliability, consistency and safety.
Technical Skills Required
Experience in SCADA/HMI & PLC development for Warehouse automation, packaging or equivalent automated conveyor/material handling controls
PLC Programming and troubleshooting using Siemens TIA V15-V19, Simatic Manager using LAD, FBD, SCL, STL
VFD and Servo Drives interfacing with PLC on communication protocols
Experience in interfacing field devices viz Barcode Scanners, Encoders, 3 rd party PLC integration
Experience on Safety PLCs programming
Industrial Networking Experience (Ethernet, Profinet etc)
Experience in using Industrial Communication Protocols (Profinet, Profibus OPC UA/DA etc)

Job Responsibilities
Requirement Gathering Capture & understand project requirements by interacting with advanced engineering team and other disciplines.
Actively participate in the allocated projects discussion to understand the scope of work and the requirements related to development.
Visit commissioned site for understanding the As Commissioned implementation vs designed and new site for due diligence (studies the site conditions, gap analysis) wherever required.
Go through the lessons learnt report (from prior projects) and evaluate if those lessons are applicable then to be incorporated in the current project(s).
Interface Development
Configure the project in the engineering station, develop HMI/SCADA graphics statics, configure tags, develop dynamic objects, faceplates, scripts
Configure alarms, trends, tag logging, users, and security
Develop the sequence of operations and other required technical documents
Secure customer approvals on design, templates, graphics, operation philosophy/Sop
Maintain the project backup using version control (version dog) at a central location
Control Logic Development
Configure the project in the engineering station and develop the PLC Logic
Provide the necessary information to enable HMI/SCADA development
Develop interface with WCS/WES, 3rd Party
Develop the sequence of operations and other required technical documents
Participate in the Functional Acceptance Test (FAT) and close the snag points within the acceptable TAT
Secure customer approvals on design, templates, operational philosophy/Sop
Maintain the project backup using version control (version dog) at a central location
Change Management
Participate in review meetings and identify / understand any change in customer requirements, project scope etc that is likely to impact development.
Discuss with project manager / PMO and document the impact of the proposed changes to project timeline and cost.
5 Site Support & Monitoring
Create SoP for users (i.e. Addverb site engineers, Addverbs after sales engineers and customers engineers)
Participate in the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and close the SAT snag points
Provide the handover and detail briefing to execution / implementation team, enable them for implementation
Remote support to site team during installation and commissioning
Maintain list of issues, the containment & corrective action and the resolution time
