Job Description:

We are currently seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer - Cranes to join our team at Tennessee Operations in Alcoa, TN. As a member of our dynamic workforce, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission of excellence while growing both personally and professionally in a supportive environment that values integrity, inclusion, and agility.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support and leadership for crane and below-the-hook device engineering and safety programs.
  • Lead the Crane Inspection Crew and provide engineering support to maintenance and operations.
  • Offer technical solutions to recurring design, process, and application problems.
  • Analyze equipment and process data to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions.
  • Manage and implement capital projects and major repairs, providing mechanical engineering support to all manufacturing and plant areas.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • Minimum of 5 years engineering experience with mechanical systems, including overhead gantry cranes, facilities, and industrial infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles.
  • Experience in equipment and component failure analysis.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Strong mechanical engineering skills with a focus on cranes, hoists, rigging, and lifting devices in heavy industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of heavy industrial equipment, including rolling mills and material handling equipment.
  • Experience in justifying, managing, and installing capital projects.
  • Familiarity with industry safety standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
