Job Summary

The Shipbuilding Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the fabrication and assembly of ship components, ensuring that all work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. This role involves managing a team of fabrication workers, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

Lead and supervise a team of fabricators, welders.

Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.

Provide training, guidance, and support to team members.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.

Production Management:

Plan and coordinate daily fabrication activities.

Ensure efficient use of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.

Monitor production schedules and adjust workloads as needed to meet

deadlines.

Collaborate with project manager to resolve any fabrication issues.

Quality Control:

Ensure all fabrication work meets quality standards and specifications.

Implement quality control measures and procedures.

Address any defects or issues promptly and effectively.

Safety and Compliance:

Enforce safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of fabrication activities, including work orders,

materials used, and time spent.

Prepare and submit regular reports on production status, quality, and safety.

Qualifications: Education:

Diploma or equivalent required.

Technical or vocational training in shipbuilding, welding, or a related field

preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipbuilding fabrication activities.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of shipbuilding processes, materials, and equipment.

Proficiency in reading technical drawings, and specifications.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
