Position Overview: The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This role involves leading the finance team, managing financial planning and analysis, and developing financial strategies to support business growth. The Financial Controller will serve as a key business partner to senior management and provide insights to drive financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
    • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is reconciled and reported accurately.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to gather and analyze financial data.
    • Develop financial forecasts and monitor performance against the budget, providing variance analysis and recommendations for corrective actions.
  3. Financial Planning and Analysis:

    • Conduct financial analysis to evaluate business performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Provide insights and strategic recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.
  4. Cash Management:

    • Monitor cash flow and ensure the organization maintains adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
    • Develop strategies for cash management, including investment and financing decisions.
  5. Internal Controls and Compliance:

    • Establish and maintain internal control procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
    • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, addressing any issues that arise.
  6. Team Leadership:

    • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.
  7. Policy Development:

    • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and financial integrity.

    • Evaluate investment opportunities and financial risks, making recommendations to optimize financial performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • years of experience in accounting and finance, with a strong background in financial management and reporting.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, managing finance teams and driving financial performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
