Senior Director, Global Technology Operations & Platform Stability
Job Description:
About the Role
We are looking for a senior technology leader to take full ownership of our regional production platform stability and operational excellence. This is a highly visible leadership position responsible for ensuring the performance, resilience, and continuous improvement of our mission-critical trading ecosystems.
This role goes beyond traditional operational management. We need someone who can think strategically, drive innovation, and act as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders. You will lead a regional team, oversee complex technical environments, and champion the adoption of automation and AI-driven solutions to enhance system reliability and user experience.
What You Will Do
- Lead and Develop Teams: Manage, mentor, and grow a regional operations team. Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Identify and develop future leaders, reducing single points of failure through knowledge sharing and succession planning.
- Ensure Platform Stability: Take end-to-end responsibility for the availability and resilience of production systems. Own the incident, problem, and crisis management processes, coordinating rapid resolution across multiple internal teams during high-pressure situations.
- Drive Innovation: Spearhead the adoption of AI and automation tools to improve monitoring, root cause analysis, capacity planning, and overall operational efficiency. Move beyond reactive support to proactive prevention and optimization.
- Build Strong Relationships: Act as the primary operational point of contact for business heads, product teams, and technology partners. Translate technical issues into business impact and maintain trust through clear, transparent communication during escalations.
- Manage Risk and Compliance: Ensure all technology risks are identified, managed, and remediated. Lead engagements for audits and regulatory reviews, maintaining strict adherence to internal policies and enterprise risk standards.
What We Are Looking For
- A proven track record of leading production support or platform operations teams in complex, high-volume, low-latency environments.
- Deep technical understanding of distributed systems, including Linux/Unix environments, databases, networking, and infrastructure.
- Strong experience with system integration protocols and client connectivity technologies.
- A background in financial services or similarly regulated, fast-paced industries (preferred but not required).
- Hands-on experience with scripting, automation, or software development is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, observability tools, and modern operational frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all organizational levels.
- Strong crisis management and decision-making capabilities under pressure.
What Success Looks Like
In your first year, you will be recognized as the go-to technology leader for the region. You will have improved platform stability, reduced incident frequency, and implemented measurable automation gains. You will have built a strong, self-sufficient team and earned the trust of both business and technology stakeholders as an independent, strategic owner of a significant technology estate.
