Responsibilities:
- Lead hands-on woodwork and ceramic activities, guiding campers in creating their own projects.
- Teach woodworking techniques such as carving, shaping, sanding, and assembling wooden pieces.
- Instruct campers on ceramic techniques, including molding, glazing, and firing.
- Ensure all activities are safe and age-appropriate, providing close supervision during crafting sessions.
- Foster creativity and encourage campers to express themselves through their projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are safely stored and ready for use.
- Work closely with other camp instructors to develop and implement creative project ideas for camp-themed events or showcases.
- Provide positive feedback and individual attention to campers, promoting skill-building and confidence.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in teaching or working with woodwork and ceramics (formal training or certification preferred).
- Strong creativity and a passion for arts and crafts.
- Ability to teach and guide children of all ages and skill levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, patient, and encouraging attitude.
- Ability to safely handle tools and equipment used in woodworking and ceramics.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain before camp start) is a plus.
- Must be flexible, reliable, and comfortable working in an outdoor or workshop setting.
- Previous camp experience is a plus.
