Job Openings Business Operations Specialist

About the job Business Operations Specialist

About Us: At International Development Resources (IDR), we believe that our greatest asset is our people. We're a diverse, passionate, and forward-thinking team that values creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning. When you join IDR, you become part of a global network dedicated to building technology that transforms businesses and makes a real-world impact.

The Opportunity: We are looking for a Business Operations Specialist to design, build, and run the processes that we need to operate as a modern software company. This is a hands-on execution role: you don't just deliver decks about what should happen, you build the thing, ship it, and make sure it sticks. You will be the operational link between departments, ensuring that our systems and data infrastructure support our growth and the customer experience.

What You Will Deliver in the First 12 Months:

  • Standardize Business Processes: Within 90 days, deliver documented, working processes for high-priority workflows. You will identify bottlenecks and manual workarounds, replacing them with scalable alternatives and maintaining a centralized process library (SOPs, playbooks).
  • Execute Tool Changes: Own the end-to-end implementation of new tools, from research and vendor negotiation to configuration, data migration, and user training.
  • Reporting Infrastructure: Design and deploy operational dashboards for leadership. You will define data standards (naming conventions, field ownership) to ensure reporting is reliable and self-sustaining.
  • CRM Migration & CPQ Build: Lead the operational side of our CRM migration, including heavy data cleansing and preparation. You will build the complete CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) process, including templates for SOWs and approval workflows.
  • Inter-departmental Alignment: Act as the link between Sales, Finance, CS, and Professional Services. Translate team needs into structured requirements and facilitate cross-functional alignment sessions.
  • Project Management: Manage operational projects from scoping to delivery, including change management, communication plans, and post-launch adjustments.
  • Finance Support: Collaborate with Finance to ensure operational systems produce clean data for billing accuracy, cost tracking, and margin reporting.
  • Operational Localization: Ensure that all SOPs, customer-facing templates, and process maps are available and accurate in both English and French.

Competencies That Matter Most:

  • Executor Mindset: You are a builder, not just a planner. You come back with a working process or a live dashboard, not just a plan to create one.
  • Process Thinking: You see systems, not just tasks. You trace problems back to their root causes and design fixes that prevent recurrence.
  • Cross-functional Operation: You move naturally between departments, brokering alignment and making sure agreed-upon strategies are implemented.
  • Tool Building: You don't just use systems; you configure, connect, and automate them.
  • Data-Driven Precision: You care about data integrity and chase discrepancies until they are resolved.
  • Comfort with Ambiguity: You thrive in environments where playbooks are still being written and are energized by building from the ground up.

What We're Looking For (Requirements):

  • Experience: 3+ years in Business Operations, Revenue Operations, or a similar cross-functional role in a B2B software environment.
  • Process Implementation: A proven track record of creating and getting business processes adopted across multiple departments.
  • Technical Hands-on Experience: Experience implementing and configuring business systems (CRM, CPQ, billing, or project management tools).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to build dashboards and define KPIs. Advanced Excel proficiency is essential for data cleansing and preparation work.
  • Bilingualism: Mandatory fluency in both English and French (spoken and written).
  • Documentation Skills: Ability to write SOPs and process maps that people actually follow.
  • SaaS Transition Knowledge: Experience in a B2B software company moving to a recurring revenue/SaaS model is a significant advantage.

Nice to Have:

  • Admin or configuration experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with automation tools like Zapier, Make, or Power Automate.
  • Background in Revenue Operations (RevOps) or Sales Operations.
  • Familiarity with structured process frameworks like Lean or ITIL.

Why Join Us?

  • Stability & Innovation: A role within a stable company that is continuously innovating.
  • Growth Opportunities: Defined paths for professional development within the organization.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package
