ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the demand planning from production, to packing and warehousing to ensure zero no stocks and plan the fleet to provide an efficient and cost effective in and outbound logistics service to the satisfaction of customers. Transport routing to minimize route time or distance, whilst maximizing vehicle fill and factoring in all operational constraints and service level requirements. To manage and achieve truck utilization. Accurate daily production planning to achieve optimal efficiencies in the factories on time and in full as requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12

• 5+ years of operations & logistics experience

• Supply Chain Qualifications (Optional but desired)

• Recruitment and Training skills

• Dealing with union matters

• Conflict management skills

• Meeting Minute taking

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Ensure sufficient raw and packing materials are procured to meet expected production demand.
  • Ensure daily production planning to meet customer requirements and communicate shortages to relevant parties.
  • Demand Planning is done accurately to ensure that the correct product and packaging are available for loading. Model stock Managed for Maize and Diverse stock.
  • Ensure all vehicles are optimally routed.
  • Provide a flexible, reliable, and efficient inter mill transport, in and outbound delivery service by routing all requirements, through the routing program, factoring in all operational constraints and service level requirements
  • Managing and planning the inventory supply to meet customer demand
  • Transport routing to minimize route time or distance, whilst maximizing vehicle fill and factoring in all operational constraints and service level requirements to achieve optimal utilization
  • Intercompany ordering on materials to be planned and executed in time.
  • Generating pick slips in time prior to loading for a fast and effective turnaround time of vehicles.
  • Open communication to all stakeholders on requirements for the day.
