SUPERVISORY/LEADERSHIP/MANAGERIAL TASKS
Manage Junior engineers and Technicians under direct supervision on technical aspect of their jobs.
Manage the Human resource functions to direct reports such as Leave; Performance; Personal Development, Competencies etc.
Provide design leadership to juniors.
Influence Junior Staff and Colleagues to exert desired CKR Behaviours and Values.

External stakeholders [Consultants; PMs; Architects; QS; Clients; Developers; Government Bodies etc.)

AUTHORITIES
Attendance and absence approval for direct reports
Education:
Bachelors Degree or B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering is preferable.
Masters degree is desirable
ECSA Registration with ability to register as PR Eng within 2 years.
Professional qualification in Green Building Design is advantageous.
Revit competency in MEP services is advantageous.
Management Diploma is desirable.
Post graduate Project Management certification or PMP or Prince 2 certification would be an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC, including but not limited to the following:
Preparation of budgets and project financial control.
Preparation of concept and feasibility reports and studies.
Preparation of tender documents and bills of quantities.
Preparation of tender adjudications.
Design of ventilation systems to suite statutory requirements.
Design of pressurisation systems and / or pressure cascade systems.
Design of complex heating and cooling systems, including, but not limited to, chilled water and VRF systems.
Design of chilled water or condenser water reticulation systems.
Design of condensate drainage systems.
Design of fresh air and extract systems.
Pump and fan selections.
Duct design.
Equipment selections.
Knowledge of local and international HVAC and Building Standards.
Basic knowledge of Fire and Wet Services (plumbing and drainage) advantageous.
DUTIES
Your duties will comprise:
GENERAL
HVAC system design.
Carry out stages of Project according to the standard PROCSA agreements and as defined by ECSA.
Project manager under the supervision of and be responsible to the higher management of Company.
Expand the client base of CKR Mechanical Department.
Represent Company always.
Be responsible for all HVAC designs or services that are created / devised and then issued under your supervision.
Be involved in the recruitment of staff for Company with higher management.
Designate staff to projects and manage them.
Create standard drawings for the Company-standard specification.
Preparation of tender documents and BOQs and adjudication of said tenders.
Financial management of projects,
Continual training of new and existing staff.
Meetings with manufacturers and suppliers of materials and equipment applicable to our field and build a library of said.
Provide reports to management when requested.
DUE DILIGENCE REPORTS
Site investigation with reference to Mechanical Building Services.
Evaluation of the condition of all HVAC services in a building.
Comparison of ventilation systems with all regulations and requirements.
Producing reports in the agreed standard format.
Cost estimates.
CONCEPT DESIGN
Attend project meetings to obtain client requirements.
Prepare preliminary design concepts and reports.
Provide cost estimates.
Provide preliminary design drawings.
DETAIL DESIGN
Attend project meetings.
Do detail design of HVAC systems.
Compile detail design report.
Provide cost estimates.
Provide detail design drawings.
Compile specifications and tender documentation.
Compile bill of quantities.
TENDERING
Call for tenders as agreed per project.
Tender adjudication and recommendations.
SUPERVISION DURING CONSTRUCTION
Attend site progress meetings
Inspection of works with reference to the tender and specifications.
Issue of quality control reports as and when required.
Financial control of projects.
Handover of projects on completion.
ADMINISTRATION / INTERNAL MANAGEMENT
Plan your work every day and week.
Complete work within agreed times and adhere to priorities.
Plan your leave in conjunction with project engineers and project managers.
Adhere to internal procedures and systems.
Fill in time sheets on a regular basis, using the system as provided by CKR
