To carry out the full spectrum of design and supervision work while building solid customer relationships.

Supervisory / Leadership / Managerial Tasks

  • Manage Junior engineers and Technicians under direct supervision on technical aspect of their jobs.
  • Manage the Human resource functions to direct reports such as Leave; Performance; Personal Development, Competencies etc.
  • Provide design leadership to juniors.
  • Influence Junior Staff and Colleagues to exert desired CKR Behaviours and Values.


Role Dependencies

  • Draughting Personnel
  • Internal Company disciplines for quality coordination of MEP services.


Discretionary Space - Independent Though and Judgement

  • Allow project strategy and objectives as set by Client to guide decision making processes.
  • Interpret situations (internally and externally); apply knowledge of process (discipline; customer requirements) to provide appropriate solutions and make informed project and business decisions.
  • Evaluate project progress and make trade-offs to ensure the best use of available resources.
  • Translate overall business objectives into Business Unit or team plans with clear and detailed objectives.
  • Alert Management or colleagues to issues and risks in any project or the business itself.


Authorities

  • Attendance and absence approval for direct reports

  • Client Entertainment


Due Diligence Reports

  • Site investigation with reference to the discipline of competence.
  • Evaluation of the condition of the relevant MEP services in a building according to competency.
  • Comparison of services and design in the field of expertise with all regulations and requirements.
  • Producing reports in the agreed standard format.
  • Cost estimates


Concept Design

  • Attend project meetings to obtain client requirements.
  • Do draft design of relevant MEP systems as per competency.
  • Compile preliminary design reports
  • Provide cost estimates.
  • Provide preliminary design drawings.


Detail Design

  • Attend project meetings.
  • Do detail design of relevant MEP system according to competency.
  • Compile detail design report
  • Provide cost estimates.
  • Provide detail design drawings.
  • Compile specifications and tender documentation.
  • Compile bill of quantities.


Tendering

  • Call for tenders as agreed per project.
  • Tender adjudication and recommendations.
  • Appointment of contractors and/or subcontractors.


Supervision During Construction

  • Attend site progress meetings
  • Inspection of works with reference to the tender and specifications.
  • Handover of projects on completion.


Administration / Internal Management

  • Plan your work every day and week.
  • Complete work within agreed times and adhere to priorities.
  • Plan your leave in conjunction with project engineers and project managers.
  • Adhere to internal procedures and systems.
  • Fill in time sheets daily, using the system as provided by Company.
