The Department of Forestry, Fisheries & the Environment is seeking a motivated and results-driven Assistant Manager to join our team based in Gariep Dam, Free State Province. 3 years contract renewable on annual basis
Qualifications
- Post Graduate Degree in Aquaculture (University Degree)
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Aquaculture.
- Must have 3 years experience in technical farm and/or fish hatchery management
Duties
- Undertake technical and administrative functions of the Aquaculture Technology Demonstration Centre (ATDC).
- Provide support towards coordination of Aquaculture Technology Demonstration Centre (ATDC) training and capacity building initiatives.
- Provide leadership and participate in aquaculture research and technology demonstration activities at the aquaculture technology demonstration centre.
- Ensuring development and implementation of breeding programmes, and provision of fingerlings through broodstock management at the ATDC.
- Manage day-to-day operation of the Aquaculture Technology Demonstration Centre.
- Oversee the implementation of intergovernmental arrangements of the Aquaculture Technology Demonstration Centre.
- Manage staff at the Aquaculture Technology Demonstration Center.
