Payroll Consultant
Our client a dynamic and vibrant player in South Africa’s financial services industry is looking for an experienced Payroll Consultant to join their remarkable team.
As a member of the team, the primary focus of this role will be to facilitate payroll administration and input on Sage 300.
Qualifications and experience
· Relevant tertiary qualification; a payroll qualification beneficial
· Sage 300 experience essential (at least 2-4 years with current work output)
· Weekly payroll processing
· Payroll control account recon experience (at least 2 -3 years witch current work output)
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Create new and terminate employees on Sage 300
· Update bank details, tax directive details and cost centre changes on Sage 300
· Gather all payroll input by following a clearly defined Activity Work Instruction
· Calculate monthly group life contributions and submission of calc. sheet to reinsurer
· Facilitate payment to 3rd parties for group life and group retirement annuity schemes
· Input monthly incentive scores, commission, variable travel allowances, overtime, standby and reimbursements (via CSV import into Sage 300)
· Create ESS logins and approve submissions (as administrator) received for reimbursement,
· Overtime and standby claims, personal detail changes and leave applications
· Exporting monthly payment files from Sage 300 to banking platform
· Submit monthly EMP returns on efiling
· Submit monthly UIF declarations to department of labour
· Submit annual COID return
· Complete validations in advance of annual easy file submission for IRP5’s (and six-monthly reconciliation)
· Address payroll related queries and requests from employees
· Analyse payroll problems and provide appropriate solutions
· Work closely with the relevant Human Resource and Finance teams to carry out payroll weekly processing and month end processing
· Run Sage 300 reports and complete weekly and monthly tasks by following a clearly defined Activity Work Instruction and checklist
· Compile weekly and month end information to share with Finance, by a specific deadline date, in line with a clearly defined Activity Work Instruction (Finance will post relevant journals on Pastel)

Skills
· PC literate and have working experience with MS Office – Excel must be at an intermediate level
· Ability to work under pressure - high-performance environment and may sometimes demand long hours from you
· Numeracy skills
