Location: Norfolk, Virginia
Salary Range: $37.00 - $40.00 per hour
Work Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift: Nightshift with every other weekend rotation
Facility: 101-bed Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) specializing in vent and trach patients

Position Overview:

Intercare Recruitment is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join a dedicated healthcare team. As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality radiation therapy treatments to patients according to the prescribed treatment plans. This role is crucial in providing care for patients in a 101-bed LTACH, which focuses on vent and trach patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
• Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment.
• Monitor patients during treatment for any adverse reactions and report to the appropriate medical staff.
• Maintain accurate records of treatment administered.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and procedures.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
• State licensure in Virginia as a Radiation Therapist.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in radiation therapy, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Strong technical skills in operating radiation therapy equipment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a nightshift role with a weekend rotation.
