About the job Manufacturing Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Elkhart, Indiana.
As a manufacturing engineer, you would be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the manufacturing processes. Ensuring the production of restroom trailers and related products are done safely, effectively, and efficiently. While implementing cost saving initiatives and maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities for this role include, but may not be limited to:
- Design, develop, implement and test current and new product lines
- Analyze existing systems and processes to identify value-added and non-value-added activities to help solve design challenges
- Identify opportunities for preventing waste and inefficiencies during production
- Manage engineering projects in a timely manner and through the life of the project
- Utilizes engineering principles and methods to designs to ensure the safety, reliability, efficiency, and quality of products
- Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, calculations, reports, and documentation
- Collaborate with other engineers, managers and production workers, and outside personnel to design and apply new systems and processes while providing technical support and guidance
- Investigate and troubleshoot system failures, malfunctions, defects, or complaints
- Performs extensive testing and validation of designs to ensure reliability, performance, quality, and safety standards
- Conducts analysis research while studying new technologies to innovate and design solutions or products
- Comply with all applicable codes, standards, regulations, and policies
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Education: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in vehicle and/or trailer design
- Certifications: SolidWorks and Lean six sigma would be a plus
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and electrical systems
- MS Office experience, preferred knowledge of Sage X
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop creative and practical solutions
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of design and documentation
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Self-discipline, willingness to learn and flexibility required, with the ability to work independently
- Physical Demands: The associate may lift and/or move up 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Stand and walk for long periods of time.
MUST HAVE
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in vehicle and/or trailer design.
- Working knowledge in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and electrical systems
- MS Office experience.
- Experience in all aspects of design and documentation.
