Job Title: Mechanic Fabricator

Job Location: Vineland NJ

Position Summary

A Fabricator is responsible for creating metal components and structures by cutting, bending, and

shaping materials. They work with blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and precision

in their work.

Basic Functions (include but not limited to)

1. Support without hesitation General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives and

Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes and are

Priority #1.

2. Assist the Lead Mechanic with the repair and maintain machinery and equipment in

accordance with diagrams, operational manuals and manufacturing specifications

3. Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed using the SAP Tablets.

4. Work from a ladder safely.

5. Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: Accurately understanding and following technical

drawings and blueprints to create components that meet specifications.

6. Cutting and Shaping Materials: Using various tools and equipment, such as saws, shears, and

presses, to cut and shape metal according to blueprints.

7. Welding and Joining Components: Using welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, ARC) to join

metal components together to form complete structures.

8. Measuring and Inspecting: Using measuring instruments to ensure that components meet the

required dimensions and quality standards.

9. Operating Fabrication Machinery: Safely and efficiently operating machinery such as lathes,

drill presses, and grinders.

10. Maintaining Equipment: Regularly cleaning and maintaining fabrication equipment to ensure

optimal performance.

11. Adhering to Safety Standards: Following safety procedures and guidelines to prevent

accidents and injuries in the workplace

12. Removes and/or replaces defective parts using hand and/or power tools

13. Maintains a safe and clean working environment when doing repairs.

14. Follow and enforce company GMP procedures and Policies.

15. Follow the Lock Out/Tag Out procedures for machine and utilities when necessaryPage 2 of 3

16. Must be safety conscious.

17. Perform special requests by Lead Mechanic/Maintenance Supervisor

18. Directs and supports contractors engaged in repairing and maintaining facility equipment and

general building maintenance such as painters, landscapers, snow and ice removal and general

grounds maintenance activities.

19. Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team

environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators,

maintenance techs and office staff to assist with repairs and troubleshooting

20. Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.

21. Perform other routine duties

Physical Demands

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit,

stand, walk, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move 75

pounds at a distance of 25 feet or more. Must be able to stand for an 8-10 hour shift (sometimes

longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive work. May be required to work overtime,

weekends and/or holidays as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust,

oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and risk of electrical shock. Earplugs, safety glasses, beard

nets (if facial hair exists), hairnets, and steel-toed / slip-resistant shoes are required in the plant in

accordance with company GMP and safety standards.

Qualification Requirements

High school diploma or GED certificate required.

Will need to have their own tools to perform daily maintenance tasks.

Must be able to successfully pass an oral/written test to demonstrate required knowledge/abilities

required of the position.

Prefer 2 years prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Management

Proficiency in using various fabrication tools and equipment.

Understanding of mechanical principles and how components fit together.

Ability to work with precision and accuracy to ensure quality products.

Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.

Ability to troubleshoot issues and find solutions.

Previous experience in metal fabrication or related fields is preferred

May require certifications in welding or related fields.

Experience with specific welding techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG, ARC)

Knowledge of fabrication materials (e.g., steel, aluminum)

Experience with CNC machinery
