Job Description:

As a Psychiatric Nurse Assistant (PNA), you will play a vital role in delivering direct patient care and therapeutic support to clients. Your primary responsibilities will include providing compassionate care, monitoring client health and behaviors, and assisting in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in direct patient care, preferably in a psychiatric setting (not required).

Qualifications Required:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience
  • Any of the following licenses/certifications in the state of Texas (TX):
    • Valid American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
    • Valid Regular Driver License (DL)
    • Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License
  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
  • Ability to pass CPR and TIPS (Trauma Intervention Protection Strategies) certification
  • Preferred experience in direct client care
  • Basic computer skills

Duties of Direct Care PNA:

  • Provide direct care to patients, including emergency, health, and personal care
  • Engage in therapeutic interactions with clients to promote their well-being
  • Monitor patients during meals and activities
  • Observe and document patients psychiatric symptoms and health status as required
  • Maintain detailed records of patients behaviors and interactions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Unit Manager and/or Resident Specialist V

Other Requirements:

  • COVID-19 testing with negative result required
  • Successful completion of a urine drug screen and background check
  • Successful completion of an FBI fingerprint background check
  • Candidate must be available for 10 consecutive days of training, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Current Open Shifts:

  • 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM
  • 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM
