Job Description:
As a Psychiatric Nurse Assistant (PNA), you will play a vital role in delivering direct patient care and therapeutic support to clients. Your primary responsibilities will include providing compassionate care, monitoring client health and behaviors, and assisting in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in direct patient care, preferably in a psychiatric setting (not required).
Qualifications Required:
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience
- Any of the following licenses/certifications in the state of Texas (TX):
- Valid American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
- Valid Regular Driver License (DL)
- Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
Job Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess a valid Drivers License
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
- Ability to pass CPR and TIPS (Trauma Intervention Protection Strategies) certification
- Preferred experience in direct client care
- Basic computer skills
Duties of Direct Care PNA:
- Provide direct care to patients, including emergency, health, and personal care
- Engage in therapeutic interactions with clients to promote their well-being
- Monitor patients during meals and activities
- Observe and document patients psychiatric symptoms and health status as required
- Maintain detailed records of patients behaviors and interactions
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Unit Manager and/or Resident Specialist V
Other Requirements:
- COVID-19 testing with negative result required
- Successful completion of a urine drug screen and background check
- Successful completion of an FBI fingerprint background check
- Candidate must be available for 10 consecutive days of training, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
Current Open Shifts:
- 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM
- 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM
