About the job Repair Technician
Our Client is seeking a Repair Technician to join our Operations team. In this role, you will be involved in every step of the manufacturing process. Your primary responsibilities will include providing technical support and guidance to the manufacturing team on day-to-day activities, troubleshooting and determining root cause analysis on PCBA failures, and repairing in-warranty and out-of-warranty RMAs. You should have in-depth knowledge of basic electronic circuits, power management circuits, protection circuits, integrated circuits, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Manager or Supervisor of Operations/Engineering, the duties and responsibilities of the Repair Technician include:
Perform inspections, testing, and updates on electronic systems, components, equipment, and software, while providing design inputs
Quickly identify and isolate faulty components and repair the defective circuit
Analyze potential circuit malfunctions and develop standard repair procedures
Liaise with the engineering team, other departments, and clients to ensure that projects are completed to specification and meet quality standards
Develop and implement effective maintenance, testing, and quality control procedures
Monitor processes, systems, and staff, and promptly identify problems. Lead bag & tag process for NCs, MRB, and material dispositions
Write specifications, instructions, reports, and handle other administrative tasks
Troubleshoot PCBAs and electronic modules
Design and create test setups and procedures
Deal with customer returns
Work with communication protocols such as UART, RS232, I2C, USB, RS485, and others
Implement and follow quality processes such as root cause analysis, corrective, and preventive actions
Manage BOMs, schematics, assembly drawings, quality metrics, ECO/ECN process
Create prototypes
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering; a Bachelors degree is preferred
4+ years of experience in electronics board and component-level repair, or in a similar role
Strong written, verbal, and telephone communication skills
Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and other technical diagrams
Fine motor skills including soldering, assembly, integration, and testing
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to meet scheduled deadlines
Critical eye for identifying defects and issues
Strong research and interpersonal skills with a proactive approach to staying current with industry knowledge
Hands-on experience with DMM, oscilloscope, signal generator, power supplies, and hand soldering
Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required for various assembly and testing processes
Strong proficiency in ERP systems and IT skills
Ability to work under pressure and yield outstanding results in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to work overtime, if required
