Job Openings QA Automation Engineer

About the job QA Automation Engineer

We're looking for a QA Engineer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience to help us ship reliable, high-quality software. You'll work closely with developers, product/project managers and designers across the full development lifecycle, from reviewing requirements to verifying releases in production. The role combines manual testing with growing ownership of test automation, and is a good fit for someone ready to move beyond executing test cases toward shaping how quality is built into the product.

Key responsibilities

  • Review product requirements, user stories and designs to identify gaps, edge cases and testability concerns early.
  • Write clear, well-structured test plans, test cases and test scenarios for new features and regression coverage.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, exploratory and UI/UX testing across web and/or mobile applications.
  • Test REST APIs using tools such as Postman, validating responses, status codes, error handling and data integrity.
  • Build and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API flows, and contribute to growing the automation suite.
  • Log, track and retest defects in a bug tracker (e.g. ClickUp, Jira), with clear reproduction steps, evidence and severity/priority.
  • Run basic database checks using SQL to validate data at the backend.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, stand-ups, refinement and retrospectives.
  • Support release readiness, including sign-off testing and post-release verification.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor test results.
  • Help improve QA processes, documentation and team best practices.

Required qualifications

  • 2–3 years of professional experience in software quality assurance or testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of testing techniques: boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, negative testing, exploratory testing.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing (Postman or similar).
  • Working experience with at least one automation framework: like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium etc .
  • Programming/scripting skills in .Net Core, JavaScript or Java.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation.
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira and ClickUp.
  • Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

  • Experience testing AI/LLM-powered features, e.g. evaluating output accuracy and consistency, hallucinations, bias and prompt edge cases.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools for test generation, maintenance or analysis.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins.
  • Exposure to performance/load testing (e.g. JMeter, k6).
  • Basic understanding of security testing concepts (e.g. OWASP Top 10).
  • Familiarity with BDD tools (e.g. Cucumber) or the Page Object Model.
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure or GCP) or Docker.
  • Any experience with claims management, e.g. testing claims systems or workflows such as intake, validation, adjudication and settlement.
  • Experience working on US healthcare domain products, including familiarity with handling sensitive patient data (e.g. HIPAA awareness).

Key competencies

  • Analytical thinking: breaks down complex features and anticipates where things can fail.
  • Ownership: takes responsibility for quality rather than just executing assigned tests.
  • Collaboration: works constructively with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
  • Curiosity: keeps learning new tools and approaches to testing.
  • Prioritization: focuses testing effort on risk and user impact under tight timelines.
