Pay: £45-50.00/hr LTD

Hours: 49hrs/week Mon-Fri + weekend overtime

The Role:

Integrate Engineering Resources are currently recruiting for a Construction Manager on behalf of our client for a major mechanical installation project on an industrial site in Teesside. The position will be based onsite, starting ASAP through until approx September 2023.

The role is to provide effective and practical construction input into the contract execution phases of the assigned project to ensure constructability aspects of the project execution are adequately considered. Duties will include:

  • Ensuring that construction hazards and risks are fully considered by engineers and contractors during the detailed engineering activities and that the appropriate mitigation is taken.
  • Reviewing all engineering documentation for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Suggesting new methods, procedures and work processes to continuously improve the project execution work process and support and promoting all company and client site directives - HSEQ, best practice, innovations, continual improvement.
  • Informing Project Management team (PM Team) about engineering progress and problems.
  • Ensure coordination with all project stakeholders to facilitate project.
  • Liaising with the Client and PM team to ensure timely and effective release of construction data/drawings and resolution of problems.
  • Ensuring that efficient and effective communications are maintained between the Client and PM team, ensuring that all reporting requirements are met.
  • Proactive coordination of the project construction activities with diligent control of any modifications / changes during construction through the management of change process, in compliance with site standards and current legislation
  • Ensuring that the construction schedules are maintained, and that early mitigation of slippage is appropriately actioned.
  • Providing notification of any potential commercial risk or opportunity to the Project Management team for further action.
  • Ensuring all vendor paperwork is in place prior to the execution of the works including facilitation of risk assessments.
  • Assisting in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships between all assigned construction team members and the HSE team at all levels to provide a consistent approach and proactive, effective resolution of issues.
  • Providing work packs for the supervision and trade teams to utilise for installation works and oversee the activities ensuring safety and quality are at the forefront of all aspect of the daily duties.
  • Ensuring permits to work for the working party are in place prior to work commencing.
  • Ensuring all Employer / EPCm Contractors Procedures, specifications and requirements are adhered to during the construction phase.
  • Ensuring that construction quality is maintained at an acceptable level, including compliance of all required records and tests; ensuring that turnover of each portion and the whole of the Works are successfully achieved
  • Monitoring performance and productivity of projects assigned engineering resources and providing feedback to supervisor and Pm team.
  • Monitoring adequacy of staffing on assigned projects and works with resource managers to make necessary adjustments.
  • Where necessary co-ordinating the procurement and expedition of equipment and materials, including the review and technical approval of specifications, purchase requisitions, acceptance criteria, supplier documentation and validation of performance.
  • Supporting the completions process
  • Working as part of a team to successfully achieve the aims and objectives of the Project 
  • Demonstrating flexibility and approachability.
  • Assisting and deputising the Project Manager as and when required.

Training:

  • Degree / HND or equivalent in either Mechanical/ Piping Engineering discipline or time served in relevant Engineering Discipline.
  • CCNSG Safety Passport or equivalent (e.g NEBOSH, EMSS)
