Salary:  £70,000 per annum / Permanent / Fixed Term Position

Location: Birmingham

Project Term: 3 Years

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • SMSTS Certification
  • NVQ Level 6 Construction Management
  • Experience in construction management, with a proven track record in managing large-scale viaduct and bridge projects.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator Certification
  • CSCS Management Card
  • Extensive background in Structural Steel Erection management or main contractor roles

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Construction Manager to oversee the construction of large-scale viaducts and bridge structures. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the construction process, from planning and budgeting to execution and completion. This is a leadership role that requires strong organisational, technical, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management:

    • Plan and manage all phases of the construction project, ensuring it is completed on time and within budget.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
    • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to achieve project goals.
  2. Budget and Cost Control:

    • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and controlling costs.
    • Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality and safety.
  3. Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure that all construction work meets industry standards, codes, and regulations.
    • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to deliver a high-quality end product.
  4. Safety and Compliance:

    • Promote and enforce a culture of safety on the construction site, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
    • Monitor and address any safety issues promptly to prevent accidents.
  5. Team Leadership:

    • Build and lead a motivated and skilled construction team.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering professional growth and development.
  6. Communication:

    • Maintain clear and open communication with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
    • Prepare regular progress reports and attend project meetings.
