Position: Pipe Fitter/Fabricator

Location: Aberdeen

Hours: 10-12 h shifts Monday- Friday with weekend work and overtime available.

Shift: Days

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: 3-6 months with longer duration once work is completed.

PAYE Pay Rates:

Days:

1st 40 Hrs Mon-Fri: £20.17

Over 40 Hrs Mon-Fri / Weekends: £25.21

Job Role:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in all relevant company safety procedures and pre job planning, including tool box talks and risk assessments.
  • Laying/Marking out, cutting, forming and joining metal pipe.
  • Aligning and fixing pieces together through welding, forming and bending.
  • Produce tack welds on various items using a variety of processes, manual arc, tungsten inert gas, metallic inert gas, brazing etc.
  • Fulfil all company and/or client procedures and understand their individual responsibility with regard to overall QHSE performance.
  • Maintaining quality of work and ensuring compliance with job specific procedures and qualifications.
  • Must be flexible, able to adapt to different situations which may require working overtime hours.
  • Site work may also be required, working to clients safety procedures and quality systems.
  • Working under limited supervision using standardised practices and/or methods. Mentoring, coaching and/or coordinating others.
  • Completing dimensional survey using Mike Llyod Automet Equipment

  • Report any hazardous defects in plant, equipment and workplace, or shortcomings in the existing controls, to a responsible person without delay

Qualifications / Education / Skills

  • Skills required for technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
  • Skills required include operating equipment used in pipefitting / fabricating and may also require the operating of associated workshop machinery, tools, welding and tacking up assemblies.
  • Knowledge required of methods, techniques, materials, tools used in metal fabrication, welding, maintenance, repair, safety practices and procedures.
  • Modern apprenticeship certificate or equivalent training.
  • Competent and Experienced in Dimensional Survey using Mike Llyod Automet Survey
