Rate: £24.00 per hour Monday to Friday inc holiday pay (£21.42 per hour + £2.58 hol pay) // £30.00 per hour weekends // £60.00 per day worked accommodation allowance

Job Summary:


We are seeking experienced and certified Coded MMA Welders to join our team for a new-build industrial project. The role involves welding carbon steel plates to a high standard, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MMA (Manual Metal Arc) welding on carbon steel plates in accordance with project specifications and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
  • Ensure all welds meet coded standards, with a focus on quality, strength, and visual appearance.
  • Conduct welding in multiple positions (e.g., vertical, horizontal, and overhead) as required.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols accurately.
  • Carry out pre-weld preparations, including cleaning, grinding, and fitting of materials.
  • Perform post-weld cleaning and inspection to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
  • Follow all site safety protocols, ensuring work is carried out in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Work closely with other team members, including fabricators, inspectors, and supervisors, to achieve project goals.
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure tools are in good working order.

Requirements:

  • Valid and up-to-date coded MMA welding certification for carbon steel plate (e.g., BS EN ISO 9606-1 or equivalent).
  • CSCS/CCNSG Card
  • Proven experience in welding carbon steel plates on industrial construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of welding techniques, materials, and quality control processes.
  • Commitment to health and safety protocols, including PPE use and safe working practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime when required.
