Job Description: HSE Advisor New Build Industrial Project

Job Title: HSE Advisor

Location: Pembroke

Duration: 6 months

Rate: £300.00 per day PAYE

Role:

The HSE Advisor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of all activities on a new build industrial project. You will support the project team in fostering a strong safety culture, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to legal and company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Health and Safety Management:

Develop, implement, and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and standards tailored to the project.

Support the creation and review of the Construction Phase Plan.

Site Inspections and Audits:

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE legislation and internal policies.

Identify and report non-compliance, providing recommendations for corrective actions.

Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS):

Review and approve contractors RAMS, ensuring they are fit for purpose and adhered to on-site.

Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with construction activities.

Incident Reporting and Investigation:

Lead investigations into accidents, near misses, and incidents, ensuring root causes are identified, documented, and shared to prevent recurrence.

Prepare detailed incident reports and support the communication of lessons learned.

Training and Inductions:

Deliver HSE training sessions and toolbox talks to workers, contractors, and visitors.

Manage and conduct site inductions, ensuring all personnel understand project-specific HSE requirements.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure the project complies with all relevant HSE legislation, including CDM Regulations 2015.

Liaise with statutory authorities and external stakeholders as required.

HSE Monitoring and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, incidents, and HSE performance metrics.

Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and senior management on HSE performance.

Promoting Safety Culture:

Act as the primary point of contact for HSE issues on-site.

Encourage and support a proactive safety culture across all levels of the project team.

Skills and Experience Required:

Proven experience as an HSE Advisor, ideally on industrial or construction projects.

In-depth knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental regulations, including CDM Regulations 2015.

Experience conducting risk assessments, method statement reviews, and site audits.

Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.

Qualifications:

NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) essential.
