Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced and highly strategic Head of Treasury to lead the organization's treasury function, funding strategy, liquidity management, capital structuring initiatives, and financial risk management activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing treasury strategies that support business growth while ensuring optimum liquidity, funding stability, and financial efficiency. This role requires a seasoned finance professional with strong expertise in corporate funding, treasury operations, project financing, foreign exchange risk management, and banking relationships. Operating as a key member of the finance leadership team, the Head of Treasury will provide strategic financial insights, strengthen treasury governance frameworks, and drive digital transformation initiatives across treasury operations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the organization's funding and liquidity strategy while maintaining an optimal mix of short-term and long-term financing.
  • Lead all treasury operations, including cash flow planning, liquidity forecasting, and working capital management.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with local and international financial institutions to secure funding for corporate and large-scale project requirements.
  • Evaluate and negotiate financing facilities, funding structures, and treasury-related banking solutions.
  • Drive capital structuring initiatives and identify financing alternatives that support sustainable business growth.
  • Manage foreign currency exposures and implement effective hedging and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, interest rates, foreign exchange movements, and financial risks impacting treasury performance.
  • Ensure robust treasury controls, governance practices, and compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Lead treasury process improvements through automation, digitalization, and operational simplification initiatives.
  • Leverage ERP treasury modules and treasury management platforms to improve efficiency and strengthen reporting capabilities.
  • Develop treasury dashboards, forecasts, analyses, and management reports for executive leadership.
  • Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to support investment decisions, funding strategies, and capital allocation.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to support organizational planning, transformation projects, and corporate growth initiatives.
  • Support project financing requirements and evaluate funding solutions for future business expansion opportunities.
  • Ensure effective liquidity management while optimizing cash utilization across the business.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance from a recognized university.
  • Professional qualification such as CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, or ACCA is mandatory.
  • A Master's Degree in Finance or CFA Charterholder status will be a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum 7-8 years of experience in Corporate Finance, including significant exposure to Treasury operations and corporate funding activities.
  • Proven experience managing treasury functions within large organizations.
  • Strong expertise in liquidity planning, cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and working capital optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate financing, capital structuring, and project funding.
  • Hands-on experience managing foreign currency exposures and treasury-related financial risks.
  • Strong understanding of banking products, financial markets, treasury governance, and risk management frameworks.
  • Experience working with ERP Treasury Modules such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of treasury automation, process digitalization, and AI-enabled treasury solutions.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills with banks and financial institutions.
  • Ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders at senior leadership level.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to drive high-performing finance and treasury teams.
