Role Overview 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Accountant to support the finance and accounting operations of a fast-growing courier and logistics organization. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting daily accounting operations, ensuring statutory compliance, and assisting management with financial reporting and analysis. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and is passionate about maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Support daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
• Process vendor payments and ensure timely settlement of supplier accounts.
• Monitor and reconcile rider and delivery agent settlements.
• Ensure timely invoicing and follow-up for corporate clients.
• Monitor daily cash inflows arising from Cash on Delivery (COD) operations.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of cash management records.
• Assist with VAT, SVAT, NBT, and other statutory tax filings in accordance with Sri Lankan regulations.
• Maintain accurate records within accounting systems and financial databases.
• Work closely with operational teams to investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Support audit preparation and provide required documentation to auditors and management.
• Assist with financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company procedures.
• Support continuous process improvements within finance and accounting functions.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Part qualification in CA, CIMA, ACCA, or a similar professional qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Experience in the logistics, courier, transportation, or e-commerce industry will be a distinct advantage.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, ERP systems, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
