Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Finance Manager to lead the finance and accounting operations of a portfolio of international financial services clients while managing and developing a growing finance team. This role combines leadership responsibility with hands-on technical accounting expertise. The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, bookkeeping, reconciliations, audits, budgeting, treasury activities, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements while ensuring the highest standards of financial accuracy and governance. The position offers exposure to regulated financial institutions, investment firms, fund managers, private funds, SPVs, and international business structures operating across multiple jurisdictions. 

Key Responsibilities 

Client Finance Management

  • Manage the accounting, finance, and reporting requirements of a portfolio of client entities.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of accounting records and timely delivery of all financial obligations.
  • Act as the primary finance contact for assigned clients and build strong professional relationships.
  • Communicate effectively with client management teams, auditors, banks, regulators, and professional service providers.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the finance and accounting team.
  • Review bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial reporting, invoicing, and payment processes.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and promote high-performance standards.
  • Support capability building and professional development within the finance function.

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and management reports.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow forecasts, MIS reports, and financial analyses.
  • Maintain hands-on involvement in accounting activities where required.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of general ledgers and financial records.
  • Apply IFRS and relevant accounting standards across client engagements.
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

Regulatory, Audit & Compliance Management

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory and prudential financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with jurisdiction-specific financial reporting obligations.
  • Coordinate annual audits and external assurance engagements.
  • Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to audit queries.
  • Support regulatory inspections, financial reviews, and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with compliance teams on governance, risk management, and regulatory reporting matters.

Treasury, Cash Flow & Financial Planning

  • Manage cash flow forecasts, liquidity monitoring, and treasury activities.
  • Oversee banking relationships, payments, collections, and capital management requirements.
  • Coordinate annual budgets, business forecasts, and variance analysis exercises.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop financial dashboards and reporting tools that provide management visibility into business performance.

Investment & Fund Accounting

  • Support accounting and reporting activities relating to investment portfolios, funds, SPVs, and investment structures.
  • Monitor investment transactions, valuations, and performance reporting.
  • Ensure accurate accounting treatment of financial instruments and investment-related activities.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Establish and strengthen internal financial controls across client engagements.
  • Drive improvements in accounting processes, reporting frameworks, and service delivery standards.
  • Standardize finance processes and reporting templates across the business.
  • Support the scaling and development of finance operations within a growing financial services environment.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Fully qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in Finance and Accounting.
  • Proven experience managing finance teams and supervising accounting operations.
  • Strong practical knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, financial reporting, consolidations, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Hands-on accounting mindset with the ability to personally perform technical accounting activities when required.
  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards.
  • Knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP or other international accounting frameworks will be advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in financial modelling, management reporting, and dashboard creation.
  • Previous experience within Financial Services, Investment Management, Funds, SPVs, or regulated financial institutions is highly preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple entities, jurisdictions, and reporting cycles simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients, auditors, regulators, and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • MBA or Master's qualification in Finance will be an advantage.
  • Previous experience working with regulators such as DFSA, CSSF, CIMA, or similar regulatory authorities will be highly advantageous.
  • Experience with private funds, fund managers, investment vehicles, or financial services entities will be strongly preferred.
