Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced and technically accomplished D365 Technical Lead to lead the delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations solutions across a large-scale enterprise ERP platform. This leadership role is responsible for guiding development teams, driving technical excellence, ensuring adherence to architecture standards, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between solution architecture and development execution, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions while mentoring development teams and ensuring delivery quality throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, X++, integrations, reporting technologies, DevOps practices, Azure services, and enterprise ERP implementations. 

Key Responsibilities 

Technical Leadership

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations solutions.
  • Review and approve technical designs, code implementations, development approaches, and deployment plans.
  • Establish development standards, coding guidelines, and engineering best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to development teams.
  • Lead architecture reviews, code reviews, and solution validation activities.
  • Drive technical governance and ensure compliance with enterprise development standards.
  • Promote engineering excellence and continuous improvement across development teams.

Solution Development

  • Design, develop, and implement customizations and extensions within Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Develop solutions using X++, Visual Studio, and the Dynamics 365 Extension Framework.
  • Customize forms, tables, classes, workflows, security roles, and business processes.
  • Develop and maintain batch jobs, services, business events, and automation solutions.
  • Implement enhancements using Microsoft best practices and extensibility frameworks.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Translate complex business requirements into practical and efficient technical solutions.

Integration Development

  • Design and implement integrations between Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and external enterprise systems.
  • Develop data exchange solutions using Data Management Framework (DMF), OData Services, Custom Services, Business Events, and Dual Write.
  • Utilize Azure technologies including Logic Apps, Service Bus, Azure Functions, and API Management.
  • Support API development and enterprise integration initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize integration performance and reliability.
  • Support data migration and data synchronization activities.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Design and develop enterprise reporting solutions using SSRS, Power BI, Electronic Reporting, and Financial Reporting tools.
  • Develop and maintain data entities to support reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy, data integrity, and performance optimization.
  • Support business intelligence and analytics initiatives across ERP environments.

Testing, Quality Assurance & Support

  • Perform unit testing and support system integration testing and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, performance, and quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical defects and production issues.
  • Provide ongoing support for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations environments.
  • Investigate and resolve application incidents and technical challenges.
  • Support ERP platform updates, upgrades, deployments, and hotfix implementations.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend continuous improvements.

DevOps & Release Management

  • Support source control, build automation, release management, and deployment processes.
  • Manage development activities using Azure DevOps and modern DevOps practices.
  • Contribute to CI/CD implementation and release planning initiatives.
  • Maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and operational support materials.
  • Support Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes and governance standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations development experience.
  • Experience leading technical teams and managing enterprise-scale ERP solution delivery.
  • Strong experience across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, or Retail ERP modules.
  • Proven experience delivering full ERP project lifecycles including implementation, enhancements, upgrades, and support.
  • Strong experience within Agile delivery environments.
  • Expert knowledge of D365 Finance & Operations Architecture, AOT, Extension Framework, Workflow Development, Security Framework, Business Events, Dual Write, and Lifecycle Services (LCS).
  • Advanced expertise in X++, Visual Studio, .NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, REST APIs, OData Services, and Custom Services.
  • Strong experience with Data Management Framework (DMF), Data Entities, Electronic Reporting, and Data Migration activities.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Service Bus, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and API Management.
  • Strong knowledge of SSRS, Power BI, SQL Server, and Financial Reporting solutions.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD Pipelines, Build & Release Management, and ALM practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and sustainable technical solutions.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within fast-paced enterprise environments.
