Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and customer-focused Operations Manager to lead and oversee day-to-day shipping, freight forwarding, customs clearance, import, export, and logistics operations.

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operational execution, managing internal teams, coordinating with shipping lines and port authorities, maintaining customer relationships, improving service quality, and driving operational efficiency within a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all operational activities related to freight forwarding, customs clearance, import, export, and logistics services.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, port authorities, customs, terminals, transport providers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operational execution.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team to achieve departmental and company objectives.
• Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and service quality.
• Ensure timely and accurate handling of documentation, shipment coordination, clearance processes, and delivery requirements.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and handle service-related issues, escalations, and operational concerns professionally.
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, customs requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
• Manage operational costs, resource utilization, and productivity to support business growth and profitability.
• Monitor shipment timelines, clearance status, transport coordination, and delivery performance.
• Work closely with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are handled accurately and on time.
• Implement best practices to improve operational workflows, documentation accuracy, and customer service.
• Prepare and present operational reports, performance metrics, and recommendations to management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, and logistics operations.
• Perform any other operations-related duties assigned by management.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Shipping, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, customs clearance, import, export, or logistics operations.
• At least 2 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of shipping line operations, port procedures, customs regulations, and international shipping practices.
• Experience in customs house brokerage, warehousing, freight forwarding, or end-to-end logistics will be an advantage.
• Proven leadership and people-management skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and stakeholder-management capability.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple operational priorities effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
• Professional, proactive, accountable, and committed to operational excellence.
