Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Associate Quality Engineering Lead to lead quality engineering activities, test strategy, automation framework development, test execution, CI configuration, and quality engineering team mentoring.

The selected candidate will be responsible for defining and improving testing practices, managing automation and performance testing initiatives, reviewing automation scripts, communicating test statuses to stakeholders, and leading a team of Quality Engineers in an Agile software engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead efforts in defining test strategies, test plans, test execution approaches, and review processes.
• Plan and oversee quality engineering activities across assigned projects and teams.
• Improve and maintain test automation frameworks.
• Review and contribute to the development of automation scripts.
• Support the design and implementation of scalable automation solutions.
• Configure and maintain continuous integration processes for testing activities.
• Work with CI, build, and source control tools to support efficient test execution.
• Oversee and manage test execution across functional, automation, service-level, and performance testing activities.
• Communicate test progress, risks, defects, and status updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure software testing processes, practices, and test design techniques are applied effectively.
• Support testing of middle-tier and service-oriented architectures.
• Use tools such as Rest-Assured or SoapUI for API and service-level testing where required.
• Contribute to performance engineering and performance testing activities.
• Identify quality risks and support corrective actions to improve product stability and release readiness.
• Work closely with software engineers, product teams, business analysts, and project stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile delivery activities and support continuous improvement of testing practices.
• Mentor, train, and guide Quality Engineers to improve technical capability and delivery quality.
• Review work completed by team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Promote strong coding standards, automation best practices, and quality engineering discipline.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging tools, technologies, and software testing practices.
• Perform any other quality engineering, automation, or testing-related duties assigned by management.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 to 6+ years of industry experience in quality engineering, software testing, test automation, or a related role.
• Strong experience in test automation using open-source tools such as Selenium.
• Experience in performance engineering and performance testing tools.
• Strong knowledge of software testing processes, practices, and test design techniques.
• Strong knowledge of Java, OOP concepts, and coding standards.
• Experience working with continuous integration, build, and source control tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and Git.
• Experience testing middle-tier and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with tools such as Rest-Assured or SoapUI will be preferred.
• Solid practical understanding of Agile software testing and software engineering concepts.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or guiding Quality Engineers will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to communicate test status, risks, and quality concerns clearly to stakeholders.
• Professional certifications such as ISTQB, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master will be an added advantage.
• Strong commitment to continuous learning and regular knowledge updates.
• Detail-oriented, quality-focused, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced technology environment.
