Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and hands-on Hot Kitchen Chef to support daily kitchen operations and deliver high-quality hot food items within a premium tea lounge environment.

The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing hot kitchen items, maintaining consistent taste and presentation, managing kitchen equipment and ingredient stock, supporting customer service, and ensuring hygiene, cleanliness, and food-safety standards are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present hot kitchen menu items according to required quality and taste standards.
  • Ensure consistency in food quality, portioning, preparation, and presentation.
  • Support menu development, new food ideas, and product improvement activities.
  • Apply modern cooking and baking techniques where required.
  • Operate kitchen equipment, tools, and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards within the kitchen area.
  • Monitor ingredient stock levels and inform management of shortages or replenishment needs.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, storing, and managing kitchen ingredients.
  • Minimize food wastage and support effective stock control.
  • Handle customer orders courteously and ensure timely preparation of food items.
  • Support smooth coordination between kitchen, service, and lounge operations.
  • Assist customers professionally when required.
  • Manage restaurant or lounge operations when assigned.
  • Maintain proper kitchen records, stock details, and daily operational updates.
  • Work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Support busy service periods while maintaining quality and speed.
  • Stay updated on food trends, customer preferences, and research and development ideas.
  • Follow instructions from management and complete assigned tasks responsibly.
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, when required.

Candidate Profile

  • Passed GCE Advanced Level.
  • Culinary diploma or equivalent professional qualification will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in hot kitchen operations will be an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in a café, restaurant, hotel, lounge, bakery, or food and beverage environment will be preferred.
  • Good knowledge of hot kitchen preparation, cooking methods, baking techniques, and kitchen machinery.
  • Ability to maintain consistent food quality, taste, hygiene, and presentation standards.
  • Good understanding of kitchen cleanliness, food safety, and basic hygiene practices.
  • Experience in stock monitoring, ingredient control, and basic inventory handling.
  • Customer-friendly attitude with good service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Good time-management and coordination skills.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Creative mindset with interest in new food trends and product development.
  • Responsible, reliable, disciplined, and willing to learn.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
