Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to support building services and MEP design projects. This role focuses on delivering efficient, compliant, and high-quality electrical designs for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments while aligning with local regulations and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical design calculations, layouts, and technical documentation for construction projects
• Design and coordinate electrical systems including:
  • Power distribution systems
  • Lighting and emergency lighting systems
  • Earthing and lightning protection systems
  • ELV and fire alarm systems
  • Load schedules and single-line diagrams
• Perform load calculations and voltage drop analysis to ensure system efficiency
• Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, HVAC, and plumbing teams
• Prepare drawings and documentation for local authority approvals in Sri Lanka
• Review shop drawings, technical submittals, and material specifications
• Provide technical support during project execution and site coordination when required
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards and energy efficiency requirements
• Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate design documentation

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3–8 years of experience in electrical design within building services or MEP projects
• Experience in residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments will be an advantage
• Prior experience working on  construction projects is preferred

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux / Dialux Evo, and ETAP (or equivalent tools) 
• Strong understanding of IEC standards and electrical design principles
• Familiarity with local authority requirements and approval processes
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong coordination and communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient design practices is an advantage
