Role Overview

We are seeking a senior Quality Assurance leader to own and drive operational quality across the flexible packaging value chain. The role focuses on defect prevention, food safety execution, regulatory compliance, cost of poor quality control, and customer satisfaction from raw material intake to final product release.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute operational quality strategy in alignment with quality governance frameworks and business objectives

  • Own operational quality KPIs, dashboards, and performance reviews

  • Exercise independent authority on production holds, releases, rework, and rejection decisions

  • Lead and develop QA, QC, and Laboratory teams while driving a strong quality culture

  • Ensure process capability through SPC, control plans, preventive controls, and quality-by-design principles

  • Execute operational quality controls aligned with regulatory, certification, and food safety requirements

  • Manage incoming raw material quality, supplier audits, COA validation, and non-conformance control

  • Oversee quality assurance across extrusion, printing (gravure & flexo), lamination, slitting, rewinding, and pouch/bag manufacturing processes

  • Lead rework, hold, reject, and CAPA management with full traceability and root cause analysis

  • Authorise final product release, ensuring compliance with specifications, food safety, and customer requirements

  • Own customer complaint investigations, corrective actions, and complaint trend analysis

  • Govern quality documentation, SOPs, control plans, ERP quality data, and change management

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using SPC, FMEA, trend analysis, and risk-based quality tools

  • Lead quality training, competency development, and second-line leadership capability building

  • Monitor and report key quality KPIs including COPQ, complaints, RFT, rework, and supplier quality performance

Qualifications

Experience & Technical Expertise

  • Extensive leadership experience in operational quality management within a manufacturing environment

  • In-depth knowledge of flexible packaging materials, processes, and failure modes

  • Strong expertise in food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality systems

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and make risk-based quality decisions under pressure

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making capability

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
