Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cyber Threat Hunter / Red Team Specialist to lead advanced threat emulation, proactive threat hunting, and intelligence-driven security operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on expertise in Red Team engagements, penetration testing, threat intelligence, and attacker behavior analysis using industry frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
This role requires strong analytical skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to translate technical intelligence into actionable detection and response improvements.

Key Responsibilities

a) Red Team Testing / Breach & Attack Simulation (BAS)

  • Perform proactive analysis of information security incidents and advanced threat actors.

  • Enhance Detection Catalog and Hunt missions using MITRE ATT&CK Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).

  • Conduct adversarial emulation exercises aligned with threat actor profiles.

b) Proactive Threat Hunting & Threat Intelligence

  • Hunt for emerging threat actor groups, tools, and techniques using open-source intelligence feeds.

  • Translate attacker TTPs into actionable behavioral or signature-based detections.

  • Track ransomware groups, phishing kits, and fraud campaigns across open sources and the dark web.

  • Monitor cybercrime threat reports and generate Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).

  • Conduct "hunt missions" using threat intelligence, anomalous log data, and proactive analysis.

  • Develop, implement, and enhance a comprehensive threat hunting framework.

  • Investigate suspicious network and system activities through proactive threat hunting exercises.

  • Document findings, analysis, and recommendations in clear, structured reports.

  • Produce periodic threat intelligence briefings, alerts, and risk assessments for stakeholders.

  • Support incident response teams during security events with real-time threat intelligence.

  • Provide guidance on containment, remediation, and recovery strategies.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational & Professional Qualifications

One of the following is required:

  • Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT (specializing in Information Security) from a UGC-recognized university
    OR

  • One or more of the following certifications:

    • OSCP, OSWE, OSEP

    • CEH

    • CPT

    • eCPPT

    • GPEN, GWAPT

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Red Team or Penetration Testing operations.

  • Experience maintaining high-level operational awareness during threat emulation scenarios.

  • At least 1 year in a leadership role is an advantage.

  • Participation in Bug Bounty programs and CTF competitions is a plus.

  • Strong scripting/programming skills in .NET, Python, Bash, PowerShell.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and execute intelligence-led Red Team engagements.

  • Strong project management and documentation capabilities.

  • Ability to articulate complex technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to enhance internal VAPT and red team capabilities through automation and custom tooling.

  • Experience organizing or participating in CTF events.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively under pressure.

  • Ability to break down complex problems into actionable tasks.
