About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quantity Surveyor to support project cost management, contract administration, and procurement activities across construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of quantity surveying principles, cost control, contractor payment verification, and project budgeting to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and within approved budgets. 

Key Responsibilities

• Validate and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQs) against project drawings and specifications. 
• Conduct payment validation for subcontractors, suppliers, and contractors based on completed work and contractual requirements. 
• Carry out quantity take-offs, measurements, and cost assessments. 
• Monitor project costs and support budgetary control initiatives. 
• Manage and monitor material and supply control to minimize wastage and prevent shortages.
• Assist in evaluating quotations and supplier proposals. 
• Verify contractor claims, variations, and interim payment applications. 
• Conduct regular site visits to inspect work progress, verify quantities, and support project cost assessments. 
• Liaise with site engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective project execution. 
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, contracts, payments, and measurements. 
• Prepare periodic reports relating to project costs, valuations, and procurement activities. 
• Support project cost analysis and financial reporting activities. 

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution. 
• 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry. 
• Sound knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity measurement principles, and cost management practices.
• Experience in contractor billing and payment verification will be an added advantage. 
• Good understanding of construction materials and procurement processes. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications. 
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings accurately. 
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
