Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Data Engineering (Tableau & Power BI) to play a critical role in modernizing enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities through the development of advanced dashboards, reports, and business intelligence solutions. This role will focus on transforming legacy reporting environments into modern, interactive, and visually engaging analytics platforms using Tableau and Power BI. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in data visualization, helping business stakeholders make better decisions through meaningful insights and user-friendly reporting solutions. Working closely with data engineering teams, business users, and reporting stakeholders, the role requires a combination of strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced Tableau and Power BI dashboards, reports, scorecards, and analytics solutions.
• Transform legacy Excel-based and traditional reporting solutions into modern, interactive business intelligence platforms.
• Develop new reporting and visualization solutions to support evolving business requirements and decision-making processes.
• Manage and continuously improve existing libraries of dashboards, visualizations, and reporting assets.
• Apply visualization best practices to create intuitive, impactful, and user-friendly dashboards.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
• Support the development of end-to-end analytics solutions across multiple business functions.
• Provide guidance on data governance, data modelling, and data source development initiatives.
• Support and maintain existing reporting platforms, including Cognos and Excel-based reporting solutions where required.
• Support enterprise-wide migration initiatives towards Tableau and Power BI platforms.
• Manage user access, security permissions, and governance requirements across reporting environments.
• Conduct training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing programs for business users and reporting teams.
• Facilitate dashboard demonstrations and analytics reviews for business stakeholders.
• Investigate reporting issues, analyze data discrepancies, troubleshoot user concerns, and provide timely resolutions.
• Collaborate closely with server administration teams to ensure platform stability, performance, and availability.
• Develop SQL queries and support data extraction, validation, cleansing, and transformation activities.
• Act as an analytics advisor by identifying innovative ways to solve business problems through data-driven solutions.
• Stay updated on emerging BI technologies, reporting trends, and visualization methodologies to continuously improve analytics capabilities.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience within Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Reporting, or related fields.
• Expert-level proficiency using Tableau.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and associated Microsoft BI technologies.
• Ability to showcase completed visualization projects through portfolios, Tableau Public profiles, Power BI portfolios, or similar platforms.
• Advanced expertise in writing SQL queries and complex SQL SELECT statements.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data modelling principles, and reporting architectures.
• Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and user experience design principles.
• Ability to interpret business requirements and develop meaningful analytical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering capabilities.
• Experience training, coaching, and supporting end users in reporting and analytics tools.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting remote teams and distributed business environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outputs.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Familiarity with Cognos reporting environments will be an added advantage.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments will be beneficial.
