Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and student-focused Senior Student Counsellor to guide students through the complete overseas education process, from the initial consultation to successful university enrolment.

The selected candidate will advise students on suitable study destinations, universities, and academic programmes based on their educational background, career goals, financial circumstances, and personal preferences. The role also involves application management, documentation preparation, visa guidance, and continuous student follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual counselling sessions with students interested in studying overseas.
• Assess students' academic qualifications, career goals, interests, and financial requirements.
• Recommend suitable countries, universities, colleges, and study programmes.
• Provide accurate information on entry requirements, tuition fees, scholarships, living costs, and application deadlines.
• Manage student applications from initial consultation through to university enrolment.
• Assist students in completing application forms and preparing supporting documents.
• Review academic transcripts, personal statements, recommendation letters, and other application materials.
• Coordinate with universities, education providers, and relevant external parties regarding student applications.
• Monitor application progress and provide students with timely updates.
• Guide students through offer acceptance, tuition payment, and enrolment procedures.
• Support students with visa applications and explain the complete visa process.
• Review visa documentation and ensure applications are accurate and complete before submission.
• Conduct visa interview preparation and pre-departure guidance when required.
• Maintain regular communication with students and parents throughout the counselling and application process.
• Manage multiple student cases while meeting application, visa, and enrolment deadlines.
• Maintain accurate student records, application updates, and follow-up notes in the relevant system.
• Participate in education fairs, seminars, school visits, and student recruitment activities when required.
• Support junior counsellors by providing guidance and sharing industry knowledge.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international education requirements, visa policies, university updates, and industry developments.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience as a Student Counsellor, Senior Student Counsellor, Education Consultant, or a similar role is required.
• Prior experience in the study abroad or international education industry is essential.
• Strong knowledge of overseas university and course-selection processes.
• Practical experience managing university applications and supporting documentation.
• Experience handling student visa applications and guiding students through visa procedures.
• Ability to provide end-to-end support from initial consultation until successful enrolment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, counselling, presentation, and relationship-management abilities.
• Ability to communicate professionally with students, parents, universities, and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple student cases and deadlines effectively.
• High attention to detail when reviewing applications and visa documentation.
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, email, and student-management systems.
• Student-focused, responsible, patient, and capable of working independently.
• Willingness to work from the Kandy office during the stated working hours.
