Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on and technically strong Forward Deployed Engineer – Applied AI to work at the intersection of applied AI engineering, integration engineering, and data engineering.

The selected candidate will be responsible for working directly with client teams to understand workflows, clean and structure operational data, build integrations, prototype AI-driven solutions, create agentic workflows, and support production go-live. This is a practical engineering role focused on shipping working systems, not a research-only or standard SaaS implementation role.

Key Responsibilities

• Own technical delivery across assigned client projects from discovery through go-live.
• Work closely with client operators, finance leads, IT teams, and business stakeholders to understand workflows, data, and operational decisions.
• Run discovery sessions to identify business processes, system gaps, integration needs, and AI use cases.
• Profile, cleanse, structure, and normalize large-scale operational data from multiple sources.
• Work with data from ERPs, accounting platforms, spreadsheets, operational databases, and enterprise systems.
• Prepare data for agentic workflows, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled decision support.
• Build API integrations with enterprise applications and external platforms.
• Develop MCP servers and integration layers for AI-enabled workflows.
• Handle complex integration edge cases and troubleshoot system connectivity issues.
• Build and support agentic workflows involving retrieval, tool use, evaluations, and automation.
• Prototype solutions quickly and convert successful prototypes into stable production-ready systems.
• Work with existing platform foundations to deliver practical AI solutions for clients.
• Collaborate with AI architects and engineering teams on technical stack decisions.
• Support scope definition, data architecture, integrations, prototypes, workflows, testing, and go-live execution.
• Identify field learnings, integration challenges, platform gaps, and repeatable patterns.
• Feed deployment learnings back into the platform to improve future implementations.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with client requirements.
• Support production deployments, handovers, documentation, and user adoption.
• Work across business domains such as freight forwarding, food and beverage, hospitality, manufacturing, and retail when required.
• Maintain clear communication with internal teams and client stakeholders throughout delivery.
• Perform any other applied AI, data engineering, or integration engineering duties assigned by management.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience across applied AI engineering, integration engineering, data engineering, software engineering, technical consulting, or technical founding roles.
• Hands-on production experience working with LLMs and AI-enabled systems.
• Experience in prompt engineering, agentic orchestration, retrieval, evaluation frameworks, and production AI workflows.
• Proven experience shipping at least one AI, data, integration, or agentic system to real users.
• Strong experience working with messy operational business data, not only clean academic datasets.
• Ability to perform data profiling, cleansing, normalization, schema design, and data structuring.
• Strong knowledge of SQL is required.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python is required.
• Experience with TypeScript will be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with at least one agentic framework or orchestration pattern such as LangGraph, CrewAI, n8n, Claude Agent SDK, custom orchestration, or equivalent.
• Experience building integrations with enterprise systems and APIs.
• Experience integrating with platforms such as CargoWise, Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, ClickUp, Exact, or comparable enterprise APIs will be preferred.
• Familiarity with AI integrations and MCP will be an advantage.
• Strong ability and willingness to learn new AI integration patterns quickly.
• Experience designing systems that connect business workflows, data sources, APIs, and AI agents.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve unclear and complex technical problems.
• Ability to work directly with business users and translate operational problems into technical solutions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced delivery environment with real client deadlines.
• Willingness to travel when required for client discovery, deployment, and handover.
• Good command of English is preferred.
• Strong ownership, attention to detail, accountability, and practical problem-solving ability.

Preferred Experience

• Domain experience in freight forwarding, food and beverage, hospitality, manufacturing, or related mid-market business sectors.
• Exposure to ERP or business systems such as CargoWise, SAP Business One, Sage, Tally, Exact, HubSpot, Apollo, Salesforce, Logysis, Power BI, Gensoft, NetSuite, or Business Central.
• Background as a former founder, early engineer, or builder who has shipped products from scratch.
• Experience working with mid-market operators, enterprise workflows, customer-facing deployments, or integration-heavy projects.
• Experience supporting AI-enabled automation for inventory, finance, operations, sales, logistics, or customer workflows.
