About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Technical Lead – Data Engineering to design, develop, and support enterprise-scale data solutions for a global organization. This role offers the opportunity to work with large-scale distributed systems, cloud-native data platforms, and modern engineering practices while collaborating within Agile, cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in data engineering, cloud technologies, ETL development, and large-scale data processing, along with the ability to provide technical guidance and contribute to delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data engineering solutions for enterprise applications.
• Implement distributed and highly available data processing applications capable of supporting large-scale business operations.
• Process and manage large volumes of structured and unstructured data efficiently.
• Design and develop ETL processes, data pipelines, and integration solutions.
• Work with cloud-based data platforms and services to build modern data architectures.
• Ensure high code quality through software engineering best practices, code reviews, and testing standards.
• Support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices across development initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams within Agile delivery environments.
• Follow DevOps principles and contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Participate in development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and post-production support activities.
• Align team members on technical direction, implementation approaches, and engineering best practices.
• Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and development approaches.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in developing enterprise-grade data processing applications.

• Strong programming experience in Python, Shell Scripting, and SQL.

• Experience working with streaming data technologies such as Kafka.

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including:

  • Redshift
  • RDS (PostgreSQL)
  • DMS
  • Lambda
  • EC2
  • S3

• Experience processing and managing large data volumes.

• Hands-on experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases, and distributed storage platforms.

• Strong experience in ETL design and development.

• Experience with ETL and cloud data tools such as:

  • Informatica
  • AWS Data Pipeline
  • AWS Glue
  • Lambda
  • EMR
  • Spark
  • Hive

• Experience working in Agile Scrum environments.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and modern engineering workflows.

• Experience with source code management and CI/CD tools such as:

  • GitHub
  • GitLab
  • Jenkins

• Experience guiding team members on technical implementation approaches and engineering standards.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously improve technical capabilities.
