Role Overview 

We are seeking a dynamic and operationally focused Assistant Manager – Compliance to strengthen compliance, food safety, quality assurance, and operational excellence across a multi-site industrial catering operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all operational centers consistently comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), food safety requirements, quality standards, regulatory obligations, and certification requirements. This role requires regular travel across operational locations and close engagement with site teams, auditors, regulators, and senior management to maintain exceptional standards of compliance and operational performance. 

Key Responsibilities

• Own and drive SOP compliance across all operational centers, ensuring policies and procedures are followed consistently on a day-to-day basis.
• Implement, monitor, and continuously improve operational SOPs and work instructions across multiple locations.
• Conduct site inspections, compliance reviews, operational audits, and corrective action assessments.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, HACCP, food safety regulations, and internal quality standards.
• Lead and coordinate internal and external audits while ensuring successful maintenance of certifications and regulatory approvals.
• Investigate non-compliance incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive and corrective action plans.
• Design and conduct compliance, GMP, HACCP, food safety, and operational standards training programs.
• Provide regular compliance reports, audit findings, risk assessments, and performance updates to senior management.
• Ensure full documentation, traceability, and accountability of compliance-related activities.
• Work closely with operational teams to strengthen quality management systems and food safety controls.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and customer confidence.
• Support regulatory inspections and maintain positive relationships with certification bodies and regulatory authorities.
• Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and ensure timely implementation across all sites.
• Promote a strong culture of compliance, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the organization.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Compliance, Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Regulatory Affairs, or a similar role within Food Production, Catering, Hospitality, or Manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of ISO 22000, ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, and local food safety regulations.
• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Quality Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• ISO Lead Auditor and/or HACCP certification will be an added advantage.
• Strong experience conducting audits, implementing compliance frameworks, and managing corrective actions.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work across multiple operational locations and manage diverse teams.
• Comfortable engaging with auditors, regulators, certification bodies, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, people management, and administrative capabilities.
• Ability to drive operational improvements and compliance excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Background

• Retired Sri Lanka Armed Forces Officer with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel or above will be considered an advantage.
• LSC (Logistics Staff Course) qualification preferred.
• Experience commanding teams and managing operational discipline within complex environments.
• Preference will be given to officers from Services or Support Regiments.
• Candidates who have successfully commanded a unit (CO) will be highly preferred.
• Preferred age below 50 years.
