Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Technical Business Analyst to join a growing Software Engineering team responsible for developing and enhancing complex business-critical software platforms. This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders, analysts, project managers, and software engineers. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering requirements, analyzing business processes, documenting system functionality, creating user stories, and translating business needs into clear technical specifications that support software development initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine strong business analysis expertise with technical understanding, enabling them to work confidently across system architecture, APIs, database structures, business logic, and software development processes. 

Role Impact 

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will become a subject matter expert on a highly specialized software platform that supports data collection, analysis, valuation modelling, reporting, and strategic business insights. You will play a critical role in ensuring alignment between business users and technical delivery teams while helping drive product improvements and operational efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities 

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

• Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and software engineering teams.
• Engage with users and business stakeholders to understand challenges, objectives, and operational requirements.
• Gather, analyze, validate, and document detailed business and functional requirements.
• Identify gaps, ambiguities, risks, and opportunities within requested changes and business processes.
• Challenge assumptions and recommend practical and effective solutions.
• Create clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and functional specifications.
• Ensure requirements are accurately interpreted and delivered by development teams.
• Participate in requirement workshops, stakeholder discussions, and solution reviews.

User Story Development & Agile Delivery

• Triaging incoming requests and enhancement requirements from users and stakeholders.
• Convert business requirements into structured development-ready user stories.
• Support prioritization activities and sprint planning processes.
• Represent the user perspective throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Work closely with developers and technical leads to clarify functionality and technical requirements.
• Support Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies where appropriate.
• Participate in sprint reviews, backlog grooming sessions, and project planning activities.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Create, maintain, and enhance user documentation, system guides, process documentation, and knowledge resources.
• Document website features, workflows, business processes, and operational procedures.
• Develop user-focused documentation that supports training and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers and technical teams to document architecture, database structures, and technical workflows.
• Maintain technical documentation, process maps, and system models as the platform evolves.
• Ensure all documentation remains accurate, structured, accessible, and up to date.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with software engineers, analysts, project managers, consultants, and leadership teams.
• Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
• Support decision-making through effective communication and stakeholder alignment.
• Build trusted relationships across international and cross-functional teams.

Future-Focused Contributions

• Contribute to interface design discussions and user journey improvements.
• Support creation of wireframes, mockups, and prototypes when necessary.
• Assist with implementing data-driven decision-making frameworks and analytics initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve system usability, efficiency, and user experience.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across products, processes, and services.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst working on complex software systems.
• Proven experience gathering requirements and supporting software development projects.
• Strong technical literacy and ability to understand complex business systems.
• Experience working directly with software development and engineering teams.
• Ability to read and understand APIs, database schemas, process flows, technical specifications, and system documentation.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
• Experience writing user stories, functional specifications, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Comfortable working within Agile and/or Waterfall environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
• Comfortable working within evolving, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environments.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and related business tools.
• Familiarity with AI tools and the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Exposure to Finance, Accounting, Valuation, Analytics, or Data-Driven Business Domains.
• Experience documenting complex systems and business processes.
• Previous experience working with international stakeholders and distributed technology teams.
• Exposure to wireframing, workflow design, or UX-related activities will be an advantage.
