About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Business Development Manager to drive business growth, expand market presence, and strengthen client relationships within the freight forwarding and logistics industry.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of business development and marketing expertise, together with a sound understanding of shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain operations. This role will play a key part in identifying new business opportunities, growing the customer base, and implementing effective strategies to promote the organization's services.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

• Identify and target potential clients within the freight forwarding and logistics sector.
• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to expand the customer base and revenue streams.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients through networking, market research, and relationship-building activities.
• Identify new market opportunities and develop strategies to maximize business potential.
• Conduct client meetings, presentations, and business development activities to secure new accounts.

Client Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Understand customer requirements and provide tailored logistics and freight forwarding solutions.
• Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts and ensure exceptional customer service.
• Address client concerns, inquiries, and service-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through proactive account management.

Marketing & Business Growth

• Develop and implement marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Plan and support marketing campaigns, trade shows, networking events, and industry engagements.
• Promote the organization's logistics and freight forwarding services to target markets.
• Support brand visibility and market positioning initiatives.
• Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities to strengthen market presence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with operations and service teams to ensure seamless execution of customer requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure service delivery excellence.
• Work with management and operational teams to align business development initiatives with organizational goals.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
• Strong understanding of logistics operations, freight forwarding, supply chain management, and industry dynamics.
• Proven track record of developing and growing customer portfolios and revenue streams.
• Strong business development, client acquisition, and account management skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in creating and executing successful marketing and sales strategies.
• Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities.
• Self-motivated, target-driven, and results-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office applications, and digital marketing tools.
