Role Overview 

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Systems Engineer to join a high-performing Managed Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, managing cloud and infrastructure environments, resolving complex incidents, maintaining critical systems, and ensuring optimal performance across enterprise IT environments. This role requires a strong background in Windows Infrastructure, Virtualization, Cloud Technologies, Microsoft 365, Security, Backup Solutions, and Enterprise Systems Administration. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical professional with strong troubleshooting capabilities and a passion for delivering exceptional customer outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 technical support across customer infrastructure environments.
  • Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud and on-premises infrastructure services.
  • Manage and support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy administration.
  • Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Mimecast, and related cloud services.
  • Perform monitoring activities using enterprise monitoring platforms and proactively address issues.
  • Support endpoint security solutions including Sophos, SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, and related platforms.
  • Investigate security events, alerts, vulnerabilities, and coordinate remediation activities.
  • Manage server patching, firmware upgrades, operating system maintenance, and application updates.
  • Support and administer VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, SimpliVity, and other virtualization environments.
  • Perform virtual machine deployments, migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure optimization activities.
  • Manage storage technologies including SAN and NAS environments.
  • Support backup, replication, recovery, and restoration solutions including Veeam, Commvault, Backup Exec, and similar platforms.
  • Monitor backup success, investigate failures, and ensure data protection compliance.
  • Manage SSL certificate deployment, renewal, and maintenance across multiple platforms.
  • Support Microsoft SQL maintenance activities including backups and maintenance plans.
  • Perform capacity planning and infrastructure optimization to ensure service availability and performance.
  • Manage technical escalations and coordinate timely issue resolution with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Support Citrix, RDS, and Windows Virtual Desktop environments.
  • Participate in critical incident response and provide support during major outages.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and document findings and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to automation, orchestration, process improvement, and service enhancement initiatives.
  • Maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, operational procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with information security requirements, service standards, and operational policies.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong experience with Windows Server 2016/2019 administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware and Hyper-V virtualization environments.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 and Azure Administration.
  • Experience with Intune, SCCM, Azure integrations, and endpoint management solutions.
  • Knowledge of enterprise storage platforms including HP, Dell, IBM, NetApp, Hitachi, Fujitsu, and related technologies.
  • Experience supporting Veeam, Commvault, Symantec Backup, and other backup platforms.
  • Exposure to Citrix, RDS, WVD, and remote application delivery technologies.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure security and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with SAN, NAS, blade servers, failover clustering, load balancing, and high-availability solutions.
  • Basic understanding of Linux administration.
  • Knowledge of endpoint security technologies including Sophos, Defender, SentinelOne, and CrowdStrike.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Engineer, or a similar role.
  • Strong experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and managed services environments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to manage technical escalations and work under pressure during critical incidents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience working within ITIL-based service delivery environments.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification will be highly advantageous.
  • Microsoft, VMware, Azure, Citrix, Nutanix, or other relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
