We Are Hiring - AML/CFT Officer /Financial Institutions (On Contract) - Supervision Division

Principal Accountabilities

• Conduct off-site examinations and follow-up reviews for Financial Institutions (FIs).

• Perform off-site risk assessments for licensed financial institutions.

• Carry out sector studies and thematic reviews for FI sectors.

• Support coordination with relevant stakeholders connected to the FI sectors.

• Assist in planning and conducting official meetings as required.

• Deliver awareness sessions and training for financial institutions.

• Provide oversight and support in monitoring FI sectors for compliance.

• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) management.

Educational Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or Law.
• Professional certifications in AML/CFT compliance (e.g., ACAMS) or a Diploma in Compliance.

Experience

• Prior experience in a senior compliance, risk, or supervisory role within a licensed financial institution (preferably banking).
• Minimum 15 years of overall banking experience with at least 5 years in AML/CFT compliance or risk management; OR
• Retired or voluntarily resigned officers with the same level of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills & Competencies

• Excellent proficiency in Sinhala & English OR Tamil & English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to prepare clear, concise, and structured reports and documentation.

• Strong knowledge and practical experience with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure.

• Flexibility and adaptability to evolving compliance and regulatory requirements.
