Role Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Logistics Import Sales Executive to drive growth in import business across air, ocean, and road freight. The role focuses on acquiring new import clients, managing an existing customer base, delivering end-to-end import logistics solutions, and achieving revenue and profitability targets while ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Import Business Development

  • Identify, prospect, and onboard new import clients through market research, cold calling, client visits, and referrals

  • Maintain and grow an existing import customer base while generating new import business

  • Build and manage a strong import-focused sales pipeline

Client & Account Management

  • Develop long-term relationships with importers and key decision-makers

  • Understand client import requirements including origin markets, Incoterms, transit times, customs clearance, and delivery needs

  • Provide tailored import logistics solutions across air, sea, and road freight

  • Handle RFQs, rate negotiations, service agreements, and issue resolution

Sales Execution & Revenue Growth

  • Achieve or exceed assigned import sales targets while maintaining profitable margins

  • Prepare accurate import quotations and negotiate contracts with customers and overseas agents

  • Close new import business and increase service utilization within the existing client portfolio

Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with operations, pricing, customs clearance, and documentation teams to ensure smooth import execution

  • Coordinate with overseas agents and carriers to meet agreed service levels and timeline

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in import logistics or freight forwarding sales

  • Existing import customer base with the ability to bring in new import clients

  • Strong understanding of import operations, customs procedures, Incoterms, and documentation

  • Experience handling air, sea, and road import shipments

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to manage client issues and deliver timely solutions

  • Proficiency in CRM systems and sales reporting tools

  • Fluency in Sinhala and English (spoken and written)
