Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manager / Assistant Manager Production & Material Planning to ensure seamless manufacturing operations by developing and executing production plans and material requirements. This role collaborates with procurement, production, warehousing, and quality teams to balance demand and supply, optimize inventory levels, and support on-time delivery of finished goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage Material Requirements Plans (MRP) for timely procurement of raw materials and components.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by monitoring safety stock, reorder points, and lead times.
- Collaborate with procurement to resolve supply issues, delivery delays, or material shortages.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies with warehouse teams.
- Identify obsolete or slow-moving materials and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP systems, including BOMs, production orders, and inventory records.
- Develop and maintain short-term and long-term production plans based on forecasts and capacity constraints.
- Convert demand forecasts into executable production schedules to meet delivery commitments.
- Monitor production progress daily and adjust schedules to address delays or priority changes.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports on production status, material availability, and inventory KPIs.
- Analyze data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Work closely with sales, customer service, and supply chain teams to understand demand fluctuations.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10-15 years of experience in production planning, material planning, or supply chain roles in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and inventory management principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
