About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Architect – Data Engineering to lead the design and architecture of enterprise-scale data, analytics, and AI solutions within a dynamic and innovation-driven environment.

This role requires a highly skilled technology leader with deep expertise in modern data architecture, cloud platforms, AI-enabled solutions, and agentic workflows. The successful candidate will work closely with business leaders, engineering teams, and stakeholders to drive strategic architecture initiatives, deliver scalable solutions, and unlock business value through data and AI.

Key Responsibilities

Domain Architecture Leadership

  • Act as the primary architectural authority for data, analytics, and AI solutions within assigned business domains.
  • Define and maintain target-state architecture and domain-driven data models aligned with enterprise standards and governance frameworks.
  • Develop architectural artifacts including solution designs, architecture decision records (ADRs), and technical blueprints.
  • Lead architecture reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise technology strategies.

AI & Intelligent Solution Architecture

  • Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical architectures.
  • Design AI-enabled and agentic workflows to solve complex business challenges.
  • Establish reusable AI and agentic solution patterns across multiple business domains.
  • Incorporate evaluation frameworks, human-in-the-loop controls, observability, governance, and cost optimization into solution designs.
  • Support adoption of emerging AI technologies and advanced enterprise AI capabilities.

Data Architecture & Cloud Engineering

  • Design and architect modern cloud-based data platforms and data products.
  • Apply best practices in data architecture, data modeling, semantic layers, and scalable analytics solutions.
  • Ensure data governance, security, compliance, observability, and FinOps principles are embedded within architectural designs.
  • Contribute to enterprise data platform evolution and modernization initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to identify opportunities where Data and AI can drive measurable business value.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical, business, and executive audiences.
  • Build stakeholder confidence through architecture presentations, demonstrations, and strategic recommendations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on data, analytics, and AI transformation initiatives.

Delivery & Enablement

  • Develop conceptual prototypes and proof-of-concept models to validate architectural approaches.
  • Support the transition from solution design to implementation, ensuring architectural integrity throughout delivery.
  • Partner with engineering, platform, support, and delivery teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Mentor engineering teams and promote best practices in AI, data architecture, and solution design.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical guidance across projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Data Architecture, Solution Architecture, or senior Data Engineering roles.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with architectural ownership of enterprise-scale technology solutions.

  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

  • Strong understanding of modern data architecture principles and scalable analytics platforms.

  • Proven experience designing AI-enabled enterprise solutions.

  • Experience with:

    • Agentic Workflows
    • Large Language Models (LLMs)
    • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
    • Prompt Engineering
    • Context Engineering
    • Model Evaluation Frameworks

  • Hands-on experience with Google Gemini Enterprise and/or Vertex AI will be a strong advantage.

  • Strong understanding of data governance, data products, semantic layers, and modern data operating models.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to explain complex architecture concepts to technical, business, and executive audiences.

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience operating within domain-driven or embedded architecture models.
  • Familiarity with data mesh principles and data product operating models.
  • Experience working within large-scale enterprise transformation environments.
  • Exposure to AI governance, observability, and FinOps frameworks.
